The Ohio Land Improvement Contractors Association (OLICA) is
the Ohio affiliate of the Land Improvement Contractors of
America (LICA). LICA can trace its beginnings to a
state association organized in Missouri during 1951. The following year additional states
joined the new association and it became the Land
Improvement Contractors of America (LICA). Since then other
states have been added until now there are active LICA chapters

Interested
drainage contractors worked with Ohio State Ag Engineering
Instructors to conduct annual schools and
seminars. This group became the Ohio Drainage
contractors. As the group joined the
upcoming national association, their name became the Ohio Land
Improvement Contractors Association (OLICA).
OLICA’s
members are involved in a variety of construction
projects. The common thread uniting so many
activities is each member’s dedication to soil and water

Ohio Land
Improvement Contractors Association (OLICA) , a state affiliate
of the Land Improvement Contractors of America (LICA), is an
organization of land improvement and conservation contractors
support businesses, scientists and individuals interested in
soil and water conservation. LICA chapters are
organized throughout the United States and Canada. OLICA
programs and service, unless otherwise indicated, are available
only to OLICA members within the state of Ohio. The
political and other positions expressed in these pages
represent OLICA positions on various issues as they relate to
Ohio. The positions of national LICA are expressed through
LICA, whose website can be found at
