From Our President

Dear Fellow Ohio LICA Members:

I would like to wish all of you a Happy New Year.  At this year’s Annual Convention, I began my term as President of the Board of Directors.  I am looking forward to a great 2017.  As many of you know, we hired Tim Street to replace Mark Wilson as the Executive Director in November of 2015.  Tim transitioned well into the position over the past 14 months and represented us very well over that time.

However, at this year’s Convention he shared with the board that he needed to step down from the position.  Tim is a very busy individual working a full-time position, farming and raising three daughters.  He had an opportunity to farm more acres and it was an offer that he could not turn down.  We appreciate him being honest with the board and giving us time to find a suitable replacement.  I am asking you to help us in the search for a new Executive Director.  Any person you recommend must be self-motivated, task oriented, have strong communication skills. They must have a working knowledge of Quick Books, computer skills for managing and updating our website, and the ability to plan and carry out conventions and workshops.  The Executive Director must have the ability to travel to represent Ohio LICA on the state and national levels.  The position requires an average of 10 hours/week with a compensation of $18,000 per year depending on qualifications.  A background with Soil and Water Conservation Services may be beneficial to the candidate.

Please contact anyone who you believe has these qualifications and encourage them to prepare a cover letter and resume expressing what they can offer Ohio LICA.  This information should be forwarded to me as soon as possible to the address or email above.  Following this letter is a job description for the Executive Director of Ohio LICA.  Thank you for participating in our search for a new Executive Director.  We will accept resumes and cover letters until February 15th.

Sincerely,

Larry K. Orr
