2009 Field Day
Norma Johnson Conservation Center
Dover, Ohio
June 26-27, 2009

The OLICA members donated their time and talents at a field day to help the Tuscarawas County Soil and Water Conservation District maintain the Norma Johnson Conservation Center. The Tuscarawas County SWCD were well pleased as the men completed 4 projects in the 2 days. The projects were: develop a small wetland, reslope and widen an existing trail, install a handicapped accessible walkway around a pond, and refurbish a dry dam. 17 members participated with some local excavators helping out. The use of over 1 million dollars worth of equipment was donated by local companies. A great big "THANK YOU!" to everyone who helped out! They included: Sherman Yoder, Terry McConnell, Ellis Aylsworth, Don Steiner, John Goffinet, Fred and Rick Galehouse, Ron Cornwell, John Jewett, Roger Burckhart, Ed Harer, Rick Stacy, Don Morris, Louis McFarland, Paul Demuth, and Ray and Casey Miller. Jason Bleach of RWF Bron came from Ontario, Canada to observe. These first pictures are of the path widening.

These pictures show that it was not "all work and no play"! The sunset was perfect at the end of a good day in Amish Country.
